Edward

Nauczyciel języka holenderskiego

Hi, my name is Edward.

I was raised bilingually (Dutch and English). Besides Dutch and English, I also speak Spanish and French. My background isn’t in languages, but I’ve been working as an online Dutch teacher for the past few years. Both my Dutch and English are fluent, and I can easily teach you grammar and vocabulary. My goal, just like ProDutch’s, is to help you master the Dutch language effectively and quickly!

It’s important to build a solid foundation when building a house. This applies to learning a language as well. That’s why we start with the basics and teach you what a basic sentence looks like. We do this interactively in everyday situations, such as indoor and outdoor activities, grocery shopping, doctor’s appointments, and so on. You’ll also automatically learn many useful words. You’ll learn not only where words are located in a sentence, but also the parts of speech they use, such as verbs, prepositions, articles, nouns, and so on. Then, you’ll learn how to pronounce the words and letters. These letters are not known in Polish. Next, you’ll learn how to replace articles with, for example, demonstrative pronouns or possessive nouns. This way, you’ll personalize your sentence and express your meaning. Articles don’t exist in Polish either. Once you understand a basic sentence, you’ll see that you can build many types of sentences simply by placing parts of speech in different places. Consider inversion or the interrogative sentence. We learn this through practice and action. After this stage, you’ll be quite communicative. Next, you’ll learn how to use conjunctions and then analyze sentences. You’ll understand the language and build more complex sentences. Then, we’ll return to everyday situations, this time with all the grammar, parts of speech, and vocabulary we’ve learned. You’ll see that you’re communicative and can ask and answer questions.
